June 12, 2026

This is the second development preview released on June 2026. This release builds on the release back in March with additional types of rooms, events and disasters, sky bridges, visual decorations, a more refined UI, and many more refinements and optimizations.

This release introduces the following new features:

Rooms
* Cinema - Brings visitors to your tower
* Event hall - Allows events to be scheduled in your tower. Currently, you can either schedule a conference or an art exhibit. Events can automatically be scheduled for halls that have a good rating.
* Stores - Stores can be rented by businesses. They expect high foot traffic and attracts some shoppers to your tower. Shoppers can visit nearby stores if they are happy.
* Twin Room and Suite - Added two additional hotel room types.

* Vending machine - Added a vending machine that satisfies food needs at all hours of the day. Needs to be restocked by a loading dock.
* Subway station - Subway station provides another way for sims to enter your tower.
* Skybridge - You can now place skybridges between two towers.

Transports
* Paternoster - A new type of transport just for funzies. Here’s a paternoster in action: Watch the Paternoster video

Game mechanics
* Power - A simple power mechanic has been added to the game. You need to have a power distribution room to take in power from the city grid (power lines are only accessible on floor B1, so the room has to be built there as well). Running out of power capacity will cause a rolling blackouts. If left unaddressed, the circuit breaker trips and triggers a power outage event. Elevators will still operate at half speed. Escalators become like stairs.

* Parking Fees - Parking can now be an income generator. The tradeoff here is that a higher fee will impact evaluation scores for some tenants.
* Disasters - There are 4 types of disasters:
** Power outage which may happen if you trip your circuit breaker by not having sufficient power distribution.
** Fire which could happen by chance and can be put out by security workers or fire fighters that spawn.
** Suspicious Package which could happen by chance and requires security workers to find the package somewhere in your tower before it … catches on fire.
** Earthquake which causes a temporary evacuation and impacts business.
* Room Infestation - Hotel rooms that are dirty for too long will become infested. This infestation can spread, so you need to have housekeeping clean it up before it spreads. Guests impacted by an infestation will leave without paying!
* VIP Visit Event - A VIP visit will evaluate your tower.

* Star rating and objectives - Maps can now have different objectives with perks for each star you earn. Some building types and building restrictions now apply based on your star rating.
* Evaluation - Room evaluations are now score based rather than average based. This should hopefully make it clear on what improvements would make the most impact.
* Room levels - Some rooms can have different star levels as they become more mature within your tower. Tenants that are happy for long enough will begin to level up and require additional needs to be fulfilled.
* Building multiple floors - You can now build rooms and floors with automatic supports with the shift key.
* Loans - You can now borrow money. There is no limit at the moment and no real penalties in just borrowing more and more.
* Multi-floor lobbies has been removed for now as it needs additional work.

Visuals
* Graphs and metrics - Added graphs to show population history and types of sims in your tower.
* Room badges - Added more badge overlays to rooms (for cleanliness, delivery issues, trash, noise). Cleaning staff shows cleaning progression via this badge system as well.
* Custom Wallpaper Colors - You can now assign a custom wallpaper color. Do you want a hot pink lobby? Now you can.

* Game Visuals - Added some additional floor decorations, clouds, planes and hot air balloons.
* UI Improvements - More work to make the UI more refined.

Audio
* Audio sound effects - Added audio sound effects for rooms, ambience, and time-specific effects. You can turn this down or off in the settings UI.

There is still work to be done with focus on additional maps, game balancing, optimization and performance, and overall polish. I hope you’ll have as much fun playing this preview as I did working on it.

I’d love to hear your feedback and help steer the direction of the project. Feel free to leave a comment on the Reddit post or email me directly.

Have fun!
Tokyo is the capital of Japan and one of the world’s largest economic and business centers. Your tower has access to a large consumer market, but you will need to manage strong competition and high expectations from your tenants.

Compare the base functional rooms before committing to a build. For individual operating rules, follow the room links; for service details use Room needs. Construction and demolition covers supporting floors and refunds.

Reading the tables
* Money uses the game's dollar display. Other currency settings display equivalent amounts with different symbols and conversion. All upkeep values are per in-game day.
* Base upkeep excludes separately billed staff, supplies, power, property tax, upgrades and other operating costs. Construction prices exclude supporting floors and transport.
* Size is width in tiles × height in floors, for one base room. Merged or upgraded rooms can differ.
* Unlocks below are the standard Nostalgia/Tokyo star tiers; 0 means available at the start. In Tutorial, Housekeeping is available at the start, while Subway Station and Stadium are outside its room catalog. Custom maps and mods may differ.
* Resident/guest figures describe base occupancy, not guaranteed current population. Worker figures are staffing defaults, not customer capacity. A stated maximum total occupancy includes staff.
* L2/L3 refers to a room's evaluation level. Many rooms follow the tower's stars by default; changing a room's level policy changes when evaluated needs apply.

Click a column heading to sort its table.

The service column is a planning summary, not a complete list of evaluation factors. All rooms still need a usable entrance route and power where their operation consumes it. Hotels, residential rooms, offices and shops also evaluate factors such as price, commute, environment or security; consult Room evaluation and the service matrix.

Garbage Chute Room needs a suitable Garbage chute shaft. Parking stalls need a connected Parking ramp or connected stalls. The Subway station has map-specific underground placement. These prices do not include the infrastructure needed to reach or connect the facility.

Add staffing and operating costs
Rooms with separately billed workers add wages to the base upkeep. For example, unupgraded Housekeeping has $400/day base upkeep plus $500/day per configured worker: its default two workers give $1,400/day before other tower costs.

Security services uses day and night shifts. Its $800/day base upkeep plus $800/day per billable worker gives $4,000/day at the default two workers per shift. The staffing control is per shift, so there are four billable worker units.

Avoid comparing income to base upkeep alone. Finances explains recurring net income and why a new facility or construction bill can reduce cash even when rooms are profitable.

For decoration, lobby/floor finishes and transport, use :Category:Architecture and :Category:Transports; they are outside these functional-room tables.

September 24, 2026This is the third development preview released on September 2026. This release builds on the release back in June with additional types of rooms, decorations and customizations, a huge slew of optimization and backend rework, achievements, a market demand system, and mod support.

This release introduces the following new features:

Rooms
New rooms
* Stadium - Brings even more visitors to your tower
* Garbage room - A small staging area for garbage generated by tenants. Rather than having them carry garbage all the way to the Garbage Dock, they can now store them in a nearby Garbage Room to be emptied by Housekeeping or Loading Dock workers.
* Delivery Bay - Delivery bay accepts mail and deliveries for your tower. It is a larger version of the Loading Dock which can be built underground.
* Decor items - A bunch of new decorative items have been added. You can adjust the colors for these items.
* Apartments - Similar to Condos, but these are rent-only.
* Restaurant - Provides food for evening and night time

Updated rooms
* Added additional variations for Fast Food Restaurants, offices, and stores.
* Certain rooms can now be upgraded for additional capacity including Mail Rooms, Power Distribution Rooms
* Vending Machines are now used by people passing by.
* Parking Ramps are now placed on the ground floor first. Car access is provided by connecting to a parking ramp. Delivery Dock, Garbage Dock, and Parking Stalls all require car access by being placed adjacent to an existing parking ramp.

Maps
* Added a new Tokyo map.
* Updated Tutorial map with a more complete tutorial.

Game mechanics
* Reworked room requirements system. As your tower grows, rooms may start requesting additional services to be provided. The score based evaluation system from v0.1.6 is now extended into a percentage system which should be more intuitive.
* Projects and secondary objectives. You can apply for a small grant when accepting a project. This should help with mid-game progression with additional guidance and capital.
* Market demand and visitor calculation system. Offices previously randomly become rented independently. With this new market demand system, your tower growth is dependent on the needs of a wider market system. Visitors to your tower is also governed by this new system: More varieties of attractions and buildings attracts more visitors. Special events such as bad weather reduce visitors.
* Room levels have been removed -- instead, room's demands now match your tower rating.
* Loan limits are now dependent on a few factors: Your tower's net worth, your tower's yearly net income, and the starting funds + game difficulty.
* Game difficulty can be adjusted which changes market demand and tenant evaluation scoring.
* Hotel rooms now age and require renovation to keep its attractiveness.

Mod support
* Adding Steam workshop support. It should be relatively easy to add new rooms and decorations. Future support for custom transports and sim types and variations may be possible.

There is still work to be done with focus on additional maps, game balancing, optimization and performance, and overall polish. I hope you’ll have as much fun playing this preview as I did working on it.

The Tutorial Map is an introductory map giving a guided tour of some of the basic mechanics in 2D Tower.
Overview
The map walks you through basic camera controls and building the first few stories of your new Tower, and helps you set up your first Condos, Offices, and Hotel.

As an introductory map, the size and buildings on this map are limited. Unlike the full city maps, the Tutorial does not include the Subway station or Stadium.
Star Rating
The guided lessons and the star objectives are separate. The current star objectives are listed below; follow the lesson prompts for the introductory building sequence.
An Office provides office space for local businesses. Offices generate consistent income through rent.

Office workers generally arrive on weekdays between 8am and 5pm. They may visit restaurants for lunch and require access to a Washroom.
Certain tenants may require subway access as your tower grows including Offices.

The Subway Train arrives every hour during the day and as a result, visitors arriving to your tower arrive in large crowds. Sufficient elevator and transport capacity is necessary to avoid unhappy guests.

Strategy
The Subway Station can generate a significant amount of traffic and you may need to use multiple elevators or express elevators to service it. The station must be placed on the map-designated subway floor. On the built-in city maps this is deep underground, so an efficient elevator system is important to keep trips to the rest of the tower short.

Gary: Link directly to current sentence-case page titles, bypassing redirects

Transport systems connect your different floors together. In 2D Tower, there are a few different types of elevators, stairs, escalators, and a paternoster. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses.

Certain tenants and workers may require specific transport modes depending. For example, workers pushing carts will require elevator access.

Transports by type
Elevators
There are currently 3 types of elevators.

Basic elevator
A basic elevator can span 30 floors. It has average acceleration and speed.

You may have up to 8 cars per shaft which may be reduced, depending on your map and star rating.

Express elevator
An express elevator can span over 100 floors. It has high acceleration and speed. Express elevators are also more expensive to build and operate.

You may have up to 8 cars per shaft which may be reduced, depending on your map and star rating.

Because of express elevators' high top speed, you may wish to reduce the number of floors serviced by express elevators so that they are able to reach their top speed. Having an express elevator stop on every floor will reduce its efficiency.

Service elevator
A service elevator is dedicated to workers and can span over 100 floors. It has above-average acceleration and speed, is faster than a standard elevator, and is slightly cheaper to build and operate.

You may have up to 8 cars per shaft which may be reduced, depending on your map and star rating.

Service elevators are restricted to workers and are a good way to ensure workers are able to quickly reach the floors they need access to. For example, it may be helpful to connect your housekeeping directly to your hotel rooms with a service elevator.

Stairs
Stairs can connect two floors together. They are the slowest way for tenants to get from floor to floor. They are also free to operate once they are built. Workers pushing carts cannot use stairs.

Stairs can be stacked by placing them one on top of another.

Stairs can be placed over a 2-story lobby to create a 3-floor staircase.

Escalators
Escalators, like stairs, also connect two floors together. They are slightly faster than stairs but require power and money to operate.

Escalators can be stacked by placing them one on top of another.

Escalators can be placed over a 2-story lobby to create a 3-floor escalator.

Paternoster
The paternoster is a continuous loop of passenger cars that can span up to 15 floors. Its continuous nature allows passengers to move up and down at the same time. Due to the limited capacity of the cars, its throughput will be lower than that of elevators.

Workers pushing carts can use a paternoster.

Routing
People in your tower will need a route from your tower entrances to their destination. Generally, they will try to pick the most efficient route to their destination. Congestion and long queues may cause them to find alternate routes if they are available. Try to optimize routes that your tenants use most often. Direct routes are better than routes that require multiple transfers.

Slow commutes and long queues will reduce the commute satisfaction. For most rooms, this may mean lower room satisfaction scores. For specific rooms like stores, it may also reduce the number of visitors that will decide to visit your tower in the future.

No routes
Check for rooms that have either the no-route icon or the no-elevator icon as they indicate there is an issue with your tower's routing.

No route to ground floor
All floors require access to the ground floor to operate. Rooms that do not have any connection to the ground floor will display a no-route icon.

No elevator access
Cleaning carts and worker-carried garbage have different transport restrictions. They need eligible elevator routes and cannot simply use a stair-only connection. A room can therefore be reachable by guests while housekeeping or garbage collection still fails. Check the worker's actual route to both the room and the disposal destination.

Rooms that do not have an elevator or service elevator route will display a no-elevator icon.

Commute satisfaction
People in your tower have only so much patience when they try to reach their destination. This is represented by each person's individual commute satisfaction. You can see a person's satisfaction based on their silhouette color: As it turns pink to red, they become more and more dissatisfied.

Low commute satisfaction will reduce room evaluation scores and may reduce the number of visitors and guests that want to visit your tower.

Improving commute satisfaction
Find ways to help your tenants reach their destination as quickly as possible. Reduce congestion by streamlining routes and improving elevator efficiency with optimized routes.

Commute satisfaction can decline more slowly if the environment that people pass through is more pleasant. Use skylobbies and decorative items at transfer locations as they give a good boost to the environmental score. On the other hand, locations that are ugly and unpleasant will increase how quickly commute satisfaction is decreased.

Using power
Rooms can draw active load while occupied or operating and idle load when inactive. Build enough supply for normal operation and transport.

Shortages, outages and billing
When demand exceeds supply, the grid can shed consumers by shutdown priority. Shed rooms and transport are out of service until supply returns. Shortage pressure includes shed demand; a serious overload can trip the grid into a power-outage disaster. Supplied power is accumulated over game time and billed.
Garbage is generated at around 1 garbage per every 10 rooms cleaned and must be disposed of either to a Garbage Dock or a nearby Garbage Room.

Housekeeping workers are able to transfer Garbage from a Garbage Room to a Garbage Dock.

You may configure the number of workers in each Housekeeping room, depending on the amount of cleaning that your tower needs.
Staffing and operation
Default staffing is two workers; the room can be configured for 1–5. Each worker costs per day in addition to the base upkeep shown in the infobox.

Strategy
Place Housekeeping near rooms that need periodic cleaning to reduce the distance your Housekeeping workers need to travel. It may make sense to place multiple Housekeeping rooms in different areas of your Tower and use service elevators to give your Housekeeping workers quicker access to rooms that need cleaning.
Troubleshooting
If cleaning falls behind, check that workers can reach the dirty rooms and a garbage destination. Check power, staffing and the service route before adding another room. See Hotel guide and Troubleshooting.

Upgrades
Elevators can be upgraded from the Configuration tab. Upgrades have two stages:

# You can upgrade the elevator system up to 5 levels. An upgraded elevator system allows cars to also be upgraded, up to the elevator system's level. Each system upgrade costs 50% of the system construction price. Each level increases the system maintenance multiplier by 25% of its base amount.
# Upgrade each car separately, up to the elevator system's current level. Each car upgrade costs 25% of the car construction price.

Every car level increases that car's maximum speed and acceleration by 25% of their base values, and increases capacity by the same percentage (rounded to a whole passenger). At level 5, a fully upgraded car has 225% of its base speed, acceleration and capacity.

Strategy
Build Service Elevators beside docks, Housekeeping, Garbage Rooms, and service-heavy floors. Separating work traffic from passenger elevators keeps deliveries and cleaning moving without competing with residents and visitors.
Security workers periodically patrols your tower and gives residents and tenants a sense of security. Additionally, security workers are able to fight fires and look for suspicious packages or boms within your tower.

You may want to upgrade the Power Distribution Room to increase power capacity. You may choose to flip breakers to temporarily reduce power consumption and maintenance cost.

Room evaluation measures a room's appeal to prospective tenants and its performance for current occupants. Each room type has its own measurements and needs. Its query window shows results and warnings, helping you decide what to improve.

Metrics and needs
Rooms can measure price, commute, Noise, Environment, Traffic, cleanliness and security, plus services from Room needs. Different room types use different factors; a room is not judged on every service in the game.

Metrics compare measured results with the room's thresholds. Service needs also consider whether a provider is available and whether service has actually succeeded. A provider's presence alone does not guarantee good service: failed attempts, missed service deadlines and stale results can reduce satisfaction.

An unobserved metric or a service still awaiting its first assessment is not always a failure. Use the status shown in the room query to distinguish pending results from unavailable, failed or overdue services.

Vacant and occupied rooms
Vacant rooms are evaluated for market appeal using the factors relevant before tenants arrive. Occupied rooms can additionally reflect their occupants' actual service experiences. This is why an apparently attractive vacancy can develop problems once people start using it.

Evaluation affects room selection, but it does not create prospective tenants. A good room can still wait for prospects or lose a search to another room or an outside alternative.

Power and access
Power and a connection to the ground floor are essential requirements. Failing either caps the evaluation score at 20, even if other results are excellent. Fix these before trying to compensate through price or optional amenities.

Stars and tenant retention
The current star tier can introduce stronger expectations. Newly introduced expectations can phase in rather than reaching their full effect immediately; the room query is the best place to check current results.

Persistent poor evaluation can make tenants leave. Standard permanent tenants have a minimum stay and consecutive-failure checks, so one low score does not necessarily cause an immediate vacancy. Advertising affects demand rather than reducing the standards applied to existing occupants.

Worked example: a service problem
This is an illustrative query result, not a screenshot or a calculated total score:
Reported factor !! Example status !! Action
Power || Available || Continue to the next factor.
Ground-floor connection || Available || Check the specific service route.
Washroom service || Unavailable or failed || Check a reachable, operational Washroom, capacity and the occupant's actual trip result.
Environment || Good || Retain it while repairing the service failure.
Conceptual check order: essential access and power → required provider and route → actual service result → optional improvements and price.

A good environment does not repair a failed washroom trip. If the ground-floor connection were missing instead, the essential-failure cap of 20 would apply regardless of the other positive results. After fixing a route, allow a new service attempt and check the query status; pending service is different from a confirmed failure.

Practical tips
* Start with power and ground-floor access.
* Read individual contributions and service statuses instead of relying only on the total score.
* For a service failure, check provider availability, capacity and the route people or staff must travel.
* For poor commute, noise or environment, use the relevant overlays and inspect placement and transport.
* Review price and commercial customer traffic alongside service quality.
Place the receiving room directly beneath the shaft's bottom outlet. Both tiles of the outlet must enter the same constructed receiving room. Place chute rooms immediately to the shaft's left on floors where people need to deposit garbage.

Garbage transfers automatically when the destination can accept it. A full or temporarily unavailable receiver blocks transfer, so garbage accumulates in the chute rooms until capacity returns. The query can show a valid connection even when the receiver is full.

A chute transports garbage within the tower; the receiving room and docks still need normal collection and disposal. Keep the destination operational and accessible. Construction totals may also include floor work shown in the build preview.

Garbage is generated by some rooms such as Condos, Apartments, Restaurants, and Housekeeping. It must be properly disposed of in order to keep residents happy and business operations running. Residents and workers will try to dispose of garbage by transferring it to a nearby Garbage Room, Garbage Dock, or Garbage Chute Room. Place a facility nearby or give them a direct route to a garbage facility to reduce their commute times.

Garbage can only be disposed of through a Loading dock or a Garbage Dock when they are serviced by the city's garbage trucks each morning. Any garbage stored in a Garbage Room will need to be periodically emptied by either loading dock workers or housekeeping.

You may use a Garbage Chute with a Garbage Chute Room to use gravity to transfer garbage to lower floors.

Garbage disposal
The two rooms that can dispose of garbage are:
* Garbage dock - A high-capacity location for holding and disposing garbage. Housekeeping will transfer garbage from garbage rooms to garbage docks. Alternatively, use garbage chutes to deliver garbage to a garbage dock. Garbage docks must be connected via Car Access in order to function.
* Loading dock - A low-capacity location for shipping out garbage and receiving goods. Loading dock workers will retrieve garbage from garbage rooms. Loading docks must be placed on the ground floor to function.

Garbage chutes
A Garbage Chute is a resizable vertical shaft that can transfer garbage to a garbage facility directly below it. People deposit garbage in a separate Garbage Chute Room placed immediately to its left. Immediately below the shaft, there must be a garbage facility that has available garbage capacity in order to receive garbage. If the room or facility under the shaft is full, garbage chute rooms will begin to backfill.

When constructing a garbage chute, place one tile of the chute and then resize either the top or bottom of the shaft by dragging it up or down. Garbage chutes cannot intersect other rooms, so additional planning is required.
Reading the interface
Use the build palette to choose rooms and transport. The highlighted placement and tool message show whether the current location is usable and how much the action costs. Room query windows expose the room's state, occupants and available controls; the exact controls depend on the room.

The summary window brings together tower-wide information such as Finances, Star rating, market demand and Projects. Use room details and Room evaluation to investigate an individual complaint, then check the matching summary for a tower-wide problem.

Change bindings and settings
Open Settings from the title screen or game menu. The keybinding controls allow up to two bindings per action. Apply your changes; use the reset control to restore defaults. Language, currency, interface scale and trackpad sensitivities are also available there.

If a tool will not work, read its placement message first. Troubleshooting covers missing access, power and service problems.

You can create parking spaces in your tower for your residents, workers, and visitors. You may also set a parking fee for each stay as a way to make additional income (at the expense of decreased satisfaction).
A Parking Stall provides parking for tenants in your Tower. Each Parking Stall can provide up to 5 parking spaces.

Parking Stalls must have Car Access by being placed adjacent to parking ramps that are connected to the ground floor, or adjacent to other parking stalls with car access.

You may charge a tower-wide parking fee by setting it on any parking ramp in your tower. Higher parking fees reduce the parking's satisfaction score if applicable, and may deter guests and visitors from using it.
Strategy
Certain rooms that require Car Access including the Delivery Dock and Garbage Docks must be placed next to a Parking Ramp or Parking Stall.

For maps that are short on underground space, it may be desirable to place parking above ground. However, be aware that parking ramps and parking stalls both negatively affect the surrounding environment.
A Mail Room provides mail access to your tenants. Certain tenants require mail including Offices, Condos, and Apartments.

Mail Rooms must be delivered to by Loading Dock workers or Delivery Dock workers. Mail Rooms also only have a limited number of mailboxes with each mailbox associated with a room.
Overview
* Construction cost:
* Maintenance: per day
* Active power use: 1
* Footprint: 7 tiles × 1 floor
* Category: Facilities

Strategy
Because Mail Rooms have limited number of mailboxes, it may make sense to place more of these rooms closer to your tenants, perhaps one per floor. You may also want to upgrade Mail Rooms for additional mailboxes.
A Loading Dock provides both deliveries to your tower as well as Garbage disposal. The room must be placed on the ground floor as it needs to be accessed by delivery and garbage trucks.

Loading Docks have a limited amount of capacity for deliveries and Garbage.

Loading Dock workers and Delivery Dock workers are the two types of workers that can make deliveries to tenants that require deliveries including Shops and Restaurants.
Overview
* Construction cost:
* Maintenance: per day
* Active power use: 5
* Footprint: 15 tiles × 1 floor
* Category: Facilities

Strategy
Loading Docks have a limited amount of capacity. For larger towers that have high demand for deliveries, it may make sense to upgrade these rooms or replace them with Delivery Docks. An efficient delevator system that can quickly move Loading Dock workers to their destination is important, especially for taller towers.
The Hotel Front Desk is the operational hub for hotel rooms. It is visited by hotel guests checking in to your hotel in the evening as well as guests checking out the next morning.

The time taken to check in or check out each guest depends on the number of hotel staff.

Operating costs
The infobox lists base building maintenance. Staff wages are additional: per worker per day. The default two workers therefore add per day. Staffing can be adjusted from one to five workers to match guest volume.

Strategy
Place the Front Desk on a highly accessible floor, ideally near the main arrival route, and keep enough staff for guest volume.

Check the check-in and check-out times and adjust the number of workers accordingly.
Hotel Rating
Hotel rating is based on your hotel front desk's evaluation. It takes into account the following aspects:
Starts at star count
Evaluation item
Scoring range
0 || Check-in || -3 to +3 points
0 || Check-out || -3 to +3 points
0 || Hotel rooms || -10 to +10 points
0 || Commute || -10 to +10 points
The check in/out times, the average Hotel room evaluation for all hotel rooms managed by the Front Desk as well as the commute to and from the Front Desk are factors in your hotel rating.

Attracting bookings
Hotel guests come from a regional overnight-travel market, separate from permanent tenant prospects and daytime shoppers. Your tower competes with outside hotels for a share of those travelers.

Stars, recent tower population, hotel quality and hotel advertising affect that share. Hotel quality uses front-desk ratings weighted by the rooms they serve. Adding equally rated rooms or another equally rated desk does not multiply attraction; it provides capacity to serve bookings. A hotel without measured ratings starts with a modest quality estimate so it can attract its first guests. Once measured ratings exist, adding unreviewed rooms does not erase a poor record.

The demand display distinguishes regional travelers, the tower's capture share, expected bookings, available rooms and unserved opportunities. If the tower attracts more booking requests than it can serve, improve eligible room capacity and operations. If many rooms stay vacant, improve quality and attraction rather than assuming that more rooms create more travelers.

Hotel advertising improves attraction to existing travelers; it does not create regional travelers or guarantee that bookings rise by the advertised percentage. Tourism events and VIP outcomes can affect travel activity. Ordinary weather changes daytime visitors, not hotel bookings.

VIP Visit
A VIP may visit your hotel at random. Alternatively, you may request for a VIP visit in the Market Demands window for a fee. A good VIP visit will temporarily increase visitors to your hotel.
Troubleshooting
Distinguish insufficient room capacity from weak traveler attraction in the demand display. For failed check-in or cleaning, check staff and routes. See Hotel guide and Troubleshooting.
A Garbage Room is a small room that tenants in your Tower can use to store garbage. It may be useful to have these rooms near Condos so that residents do not need to make a full trip to a Garbage Dock.

Garbage Rooms can be emptied by Loading Dock workers to a Loading Dock for disposal, or by Houeskeeping workers to a Garbage Dock. Both Loading Dock and Housekeeping workers can transfer up to 10 garbage and allows them to empty a Garbage Room in one trip.

Garbage Rooms can be upgraded for additional capacity.

Strategy
Place these near residents to reduce the time it takes them to dispose of garbage.

Housekeeping can empty these rooms to a Garbage Dock and can carry 10 garbage at a time.
A Garbage Dock is a large garbage disposal facility in your Tower. Garbage Dock must be placed underground and must be connected via Car Access in order for the garbage truck to empty the garbage.

Residents and workers can dispose of garbage directly to the Garbage Dock. However, since Garbage Docks must be placed underground, it may be better to have Garbage Rooms be an intermediate staging area and have workers transfer large batches of garbage instead.

Garbage can be picked up with an immediate pickup request at double the cost to a regularly scheduled pickup.

A Garbage Dock can hold 100 garbage and can be upgraded for an additional 100 garbage capacity per upgrade.
