Start with the symptom below, then inspect the affected room or transport. The links lead to the detailed rules; the checks give you a useful order to investigate.
| Symptom | Check first | Read next |
|---|---|---|
| Vacant rooms do not attract tenants | Available whole prospects, daytime leasing, room eligibility and evaluation. Building more vacancies does not create prospects. | Market demand · Room evaluation · Tenants |
| Tenants keep leaving | Persistent poor evaluation and failed services. Separate a slow arrival market from problems affecting existing tenants. | Tenants · Room evaluation |
| Hotel rooms remain empty | Compare regional travelers, capture share, expected bookings and eligible room capacity. Check the front desk, room condition and guest routes. | Hotel guide · Hotel front desk |
| A room is unavailable or has a low score despite good amenities | Power, ground-floor connection and any hard provider association before optional scores. | Room evaluation · Room needs · Power |
| Food, washroom or mail service fails | Provider operation, usable routes, capacity and the time of the service attempt. A provider merely existing is not a successful visit. | Food · Washroom · Mail · Room needs |
| Garbage backs up | Room capacity, downstream storage and collection. A connected chute can still be blocked by its receiver. | Garbage · Blocked chute rooms |
| Rooms stay dirty | Housekeeping workload, staff and routes to affected rooms and garbage disposal. | Housekeeping · Service elevator |
| Elevators queue or commute satisfaction falls | Service floors, an uninterrupted route, cars in service, available power and whether trips span too many stops. | Elevator guide · Transport systems · Traffic |
| Rooms or transport lose power | Supply, desired and unserved demand, shutdown priority and any outage. | Power · Power distribution room |
| Stores have weak visitor traffic | Successful completed shopper trips, food/washroom stops and commute. Tenant prospects and shoppers are separate markets. | Store · Market demand |
| A star does not advance | All objectives for the next tier, including concurrent hotel guests, VIP or commute requirements where applicable. | Star rating · your map guide |
| A mod does not appear or a save reports missing content | Installed/enabled packs, restart, required identities and compatibility. | Using mods · Save compatibility |
Read service results in context
A pending first assessment is different from unavailable or failed service. After changing a route or adding capacity, allow the relevant service to be attempted again and inspect its result. This conceptual example shows how to choose a first fix.
