Compare the base functional rooms before committing to a build. For individual operating rules, follow the room links; for service details use Needs and requirements. Construction and demolition covers supporting floors and refunds.
Reading the tables
- Money uses the game's dollar display. Other currency settings display equivalent amounts with different symbols and conversion. All upkeep values are per in-game day.
- Base upkeep excludes separately billed staff, supplies, power, property tax, upgrades and other operating costs. Construction prices exclude supporting floors and transport.
- Size is width in tiles × height in floors, for one base room. Merged or upgraded rooms can differ.
- Unlocks below are the standard Nostalgia/Tokyo star tiers; 0 means available at the start. In Tutorial, Housekeeping is available at the start, while Subway Station and Stadium are outside its room catalog. Custom maps and mods may differ.
- Resident/guest figures describe base occupancy, not guaranteed current population. Worker figures are staffing defaults, not customer capacity. A stated maximum total occupancy includes staff.
- L2/L3 refers to a room's evaluation level. Many rooms follow the tower's stars by default; changing a room's level policy changes when evaluated needs apply.

The service column is a planning summary, not a complete list of evaluation factors. All rooms still need a usable entrance route and power where their operation consumes it. Hotels, residential rooms, offices and shops also evaluate factors such as price, commute, environment or security; consult Room evaluation and the service matrix.
Facilities and service infrastructure
| Room | Build cost | Base upkeep/day | Size | Unlock stars | Function / capacity |

| Vending Machine | $20,000 | $0 | 2 × 1 | 0 | Small visitor-income room; not a Food provider |
Garbage Chute Room needs a suitable Garbage Chute shaft. Parking stalls need a connected Parking Ramp or connected stalls. The Subway Station has map-specific underground placement. These prices do not include the infrastructure needed to reach or connect the facility.
Add staffing and operating costs
Rooms with separately billed workers add wages to the base upkeep. For example, unupgraded Housekeeping has $400/day base upkeep plus $500/day per configured worker: its default two workers give $1,400/day before other tower costs.
Security Services uses day and night shifts. Its $800/day base upkeep plus $800/day per billable worker gives $4,000/day at the default two workers per shift. The staffing control is per shift, so there are four billable worker units.
Avoid comparing income to base upkeep alone. Budget explains recurring net income and why a new facility or construction bill can reduce cash even when rooms are profitable.
For decoration, lobby/floor finishes and transport, use Category:Architecture and Category:Transports; they are outside these functional-room tables.
